Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Surgery)
Blepharoplasty, also known as eyelid surgery, is a procedure offered at the Melbourne Institute of Plastic Surgery that can tighten the skin around the eyes for a more youthful appearance. Blepharoplasty may even improve vision for those whose eyelids are drooping low enough to interfere with their eyesight.
Blepharoplasty may be performed on all four eyelids or only the top or bottom. During the procedure, one of our surgeons will make incisions into the natural creases around the eyes. For upper eyelid surgery, the incision will be made in the crease just above the eyelid. For lower eyelid surgery, the incision will be made just below the lashes. The surgeon will then remove any excess fat under the skin, trim off extra skin and muscles, and close the incisions with very fine stitches.
The results of blepharoplasty are usually permanent, so you can enjoy long-lasting results of a more youthful appearance and the increased confidence that comes with it. If you are interested in blepharoplasty or eyelid surgery.
