How it works

Skin boosters treat dull, dehydrated and rough skin to improve skin brightness, hydration and texture. Skin boosters are micro-injections of dermal fillers in the skin. Unlike traditional dermal fillers, their purpose is not to volumnise the face and skin; instead they are injected into the skin to hydrate and improve its quality and texture. The hyaluronic acid injections are designed to prevent premature ageing of our skin and to boost its radiance. The product is a non-cross linked Hylaronic Acid gel fluid, which allows a smooth application of micro-injections at the chosen areas. Cross-links are bonds between the chains of molecules that form the dermal filler. Dermal fillers without cross-linking are suitable for superficial skin injections producing no lumping – however immediately after treatment there will be some small bumps visible temporarily in approximately the first 24 hours. The skin booster has a high concentration of natural and free hyaluronic acid plus a combination of antioxidants, amino acids, minerals and vitamins, all of which are naturally present in our skin. This type of dermal filler can be injected over large areas of the face including under the eyes, neck, decolletage and hands to increase the skin’s hydration quality and texture. During treatment the multiple injections stimulate fibroblasts to encourage new collagen formation, resulting in a more youthful, firmer and radiant skin that glows.

Skin boosters are treated using a machine that utilises a 9 needle point system. It uses a light suction to bring the skin to the needles aiding in even distribution of the hyaluronic acid, delivering accurate and specific amounts at an ideal depth. This enables very superficial injections ranging from 0.6mm-1mm depths, allowing the hyaluronic acid to be place to the correct superficial layer of the skin.

Who is it suitable for

This treatment is suitable for all except for pregnant or breastfeeding patients. It is ideal for patients who want to improve the texture, hydration and quality of their skin.

The skin booster is not aimed to fill wrinkles and lines. It is to hydrate the skin and promote formation of new collegen and elastin. Patients notice a firmer and improved texture of their skin and a glowing skin – known as a skin booster.

How many treatments are recommended

Hyaluronic acid skin booster is a resorbable molecule, its effects are temporary and depend on several factors including skin type, age and treatment area. For optimum results, an initial protocol of 3 sessions 3-4 weeks apart and a maintenance session 2-3 times a year are recommended.
