Imaging and Clinical Photography

To assist in caring for our patients, we offer the latest in digital imaging facilities.

Body Mapping

At the Melbourne Institute of Plastic Surgery, we offer body mapping, ideal for locating and tracking pigmented lesions on a patient’s body. This state-of-the-art feature of our computer system works by linking single or multiple close-up images to precise points on a body sector photo.

Visualising New Images

This fascinating computer system allows patients to view themselves on a high-resolution color monitor while the doctor or assistant redesigns their images electronically. Once the patient’s image is captured and displayed on the screen, the image can then be altered with the computer and in a few minutes the patient can see before and after pictures of themselves. This technique is a useful consultation tool and helps patients understand what can, and cannot, be done by the surgeon.
