A surgical procedure that aims improve post-traumatic deformities using special tools and techniques.

Procedure Information

What is Post-Traumatic Deformities?

Injuries can affect our appearance, leaving behind scars or bone abnormalities, and can sometimes even impair function. This is not always due to an original improper treatment, but may be the result of a repair that simply changed over time. Plastic surgeons can often improve post-traumatic deformities using special tools and techniques.

For instance, our surgeons can revise or re-align scars, making them less noticeable. For larger depression areas or abnormal tissues, we can also inject fat or other compounds into your skin to make it even.

If you have suffered an injury and are currently experiencing post-traumatic deformity, you may be able to benefit from reconstructive surgery. Contact the Melbourne Institute of Plastic Surgery today to learn more.
